Things can change quickly in the IT Industry. Sometimes a change of strategy means a change of IT Infrastructure. You may have some priorities when it comes to a swift move, but don’t forget to draw up an effective IT Asset Recovery strategy.
You need to get the old assets out so that you can…
- Install new hardware
- Be out of the collocation by the end of the lease
- Raise capital quickly
- Purchase new assets
With our 26 years of experience, we understand you may have challenges unique to your business. That’s when specialized problem solving comes into play. We don’t believe in the “one size fits all” ITAD service, cookie cutter model. Instead we believe in ITAD solutions. Let us know what you need and we’ll build your specifications into the IT Asset Recovery quote.
Liquidate Servers, Storage, Networking, and More!
When you need to clear expensive colocation realestate, you need an ITAD partner that will take it all. So you don’t need to deal with four different ITAD companies to get the job done. We buy servers, storage, networking, and more. Even if some of the equipment is too old, we can recycle the nonviable equipment in an environmentally responsible manner up to ITAD industry standards. For more information on selling particular kinds of IT, see our product pages:
White Glove Onsite Logistics
We can coordinate the physical decommission so you don’t need to fly any techs out. We can work with the collo’s remote hands services, or send one of our own reps to remove the equipment and palletize for transit. A major trucking company is then contracted to securely transport the systems to an R2 Certified facility. If you prefer to palletize the material yourself, we can provide instructions on protecting your return.
Documented Data Erasure and Data Destruction
Formatting media bearing devices is not enough, we write 0’s over every bit and verify that the drives only contains 0’s. And we never miss a drive because we serialize every sensitive component and track that each one was completely erased. Certificates of data destruction per drive are available upon request. But how can we be sure our system executes without any errors? Our process is internally audited per shipment, and third party audited quarterly. We ship erased drives to undergo forensic extraction. Those reports are available upon request along with any other reports within our ITAD process you need.
Our ITAD Solutions Process
Step 1: Lay the ground work – What, when, and where
For which IT systems do you require our ITAD services? Figure out which systems will be retained, and which are considered a non performing asset. From there we need a list of products to quote. The list does not need to be extensive on every detail, see our product guides mentioned above for more information on how to inventory product quick and easy.
When will the systems be ready to ship? The IT commodity markets fluctuate over time. If the material is more than two weeks out, we can project values plus or minus 5% in most cases. Those projections can be useful for planning upgrades and balance sheets.
Where will the product ship from? Originating from Honolulu or Atlanta entail entirely different sets of logistics. Beyond the geographic location is the type of location. Is it in a colocation or a corporate campus? Is there a loading dock? Once we have the logistics, we can build you an ITAD solution to fit your needs.
Step 2: Get a Quote
Call, Chat, e-mail, or submit a form to let us know the above. We’ll work up a formal quote and statement of work. We’ll make an offer to purchase your equipment outright or through revenue sharing. Let us know if there are any special considerations you would like us to include in your ITAD quote. This can include, but is not limited to custom reports, erasure, logistics, etc.
Step 3: Shipping
If you’re opting for on site pickup, we only need you to authorize our access to the equipment, and to designate which systems will be pulled. If you would like to palletize the equipment yourself, we can provide instructions and materials. From there, we dispatch a truck to pick up and transport the product with full insurance to our R2 certified ITAD facility.
Step 4: Assurance
Once received, we de-manufacture systems into base components, and produce audit reports of products received, tested good, and failed. Our calibrated machinery will test the functionality of systems and components. For products that do not pass the tests, we have a board level repair engineer onsite to return the items to working condition.
Step 5: Getting Paid
The most common payment option is Net 7 company check. Within 7 business days of receiving the product we send reports of everything received. Upon your approval we issue a company check to the name and address on the purchase order. Other payment options are available upon request. If your organization has trouble accepting payments, we’ll help you get the value back in a more meaningful way. If you identify a need that isn’t budgeted, we can use the value of product received to purchase product your department does need. One school district upgraded laptops with SSD’s and sold the HDD’s to Exit. With that value we bought them $12,000 worth of Google Chrome books (with the edu console pre-installed). Whatever type of compensation you want, and whatever ITAD solutions you need, we can accommodate you.
